Many Indiana families are dealing with the aftermath of flooding this week.

That process includes cleanup, but also lots of paperwork — from insurance claims to applying for government assistance.Ā 

The Indiana State Bar Association, Pro Bono Indiana and One More Indy will host a free legal clinic Aug. 22 to help people affected by the recent floods.Ā 

The event will be at Church at the Crossing on Indy’s north side.Ā 

From 9 a.m. to noon, attorneys will be available to help people with issues related to flooding. Those can include insurance claims, property and car recovery and replacing government documents that may have been destroyed or damaged.Ā 

If you attend the clinic, you can also visit the One More food pantry, located at the northside church. Visitors can shop for grocery and hygiene items.

The legal clinic will be from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 22 at Church at the Crossing, 9111 Haverstick Road. Enter through Door 3.

The event is free and registration is not required.
