If you’ve been wanting to take a citizenship test or learn more English, these free classes may be for you.

Registration is open now for the Burmese American Community Institute’s English language and citizenship classes. Though classes are free, the textbook is $20. 

The 11-week sessions will be held at BACI’s office, 4925 Shelby St., Suite 200. Orientations for the new sessions are March 31 and April 1-3. 

You can choose morning classes, 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and Tuesdays, or evening classes, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. 

Classes will teach the concepts you’ll need to know to take your citizenship test and some basic English language. All levels of English are welcome.

Walk-ins are also welcome at each orientation session.
