IPS wants to arm families with the knowledge they need to support students’ goals during and after high school.

The district is putting on a morning of workshops to help families get familiar with steps their students should take in school to prepare for life after graduation.

The program’s name — “Preparing for Success & the 3E’s” — references three common paths students take after high school: enrollment, employment and enlistment.

Workshops will help families understand what each of these mean and what they can do to help ensure their children are successful.

The workshops will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Sept. 21 at Longfellow Middle School, 510 Laurel St. Available workshops include:

  • Career Pathways/Work-Based Learning
  • High School Options
  • Xello — IPS’ Career Readiness Platform
  • Scholarships, Essay Development and FAFSA Overview
  • How to Stay on Track — High School Edition.

The event is free and light refreshments will be provided. Middle and high school students and their families are encouraged to attend. To register, visit myips.org/family-academy.
