Spend a Saturday shopping from more than 100 local small businesses, listening to live music and networking with other entrepreneurs at Indianapolis Urban League’s 7th annual Entrepreneur and Small Business Fair.

The free event goes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 22 at Indianapolis Urban League, 777 Indiana Ave. Parking is free, too. The first 300 people through the doors get $35 to spend with the vendors, who will be selling clothes, jewelry, popcorn, beauty products, kids’ books and more.

The Indianapolis Urban League is still looking for volunteers to help the fair run smoothly. If you want to sign up, you can pick a shift from 8:30-11 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Every volunteer will get a shirt. You have to be 18 years old or older. Register by 5 p.m. Aug. 18.

The event is part of what the Indianapolis Urban League Entrepreneurship Center offers. The center started five years ago to offer business coaching, grants for small businesses and community workshops.

The next workshop on Oct. 6 will explain how to use QuickBooks and how to understand budgeting for yourself or your business.
