There’s a lot going on in the world these days, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

To help bridge the gaps, Indy Reads is holding a community conversation at its Fountain Square bookstore Aug. 27.

The literacy nonprofit will host the free event with four other local organizations: Flanner House, Exodus Refugee, Jewish Voice for Peace and Indy’s Global Village.

At the event, representatives from the organizations will facilitate a discussion about local and national current events.

The event is open to community members of all ages and English-speaking abilities.

The conversation will be from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 27 at Indy Reads, 1066 Virginia Ave

The event is free, but Indy Reads is accepting pay-as-you-can donations. Get tickets in advance online.
