Families can learn how to support their student’s attendance, manage behavior at home and navigate special education requests during an upcoming Parent Empowerment Conference.

The free event for Indianapolis Public Schools parents will allow families to connect with IPS staff members and ask questions about their children’s education.

Breakout session topics will cover attendance, student behavior, special education, mental health and more. IPS officials say they also want to hear from parents about how the district can support students.

Child care is free and available for potty-trained kids ages 3 to 12. A boxed lunch will be provided.

The Friday event runs from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 18 on the Butler University campus. Free parking is available just off of 42nd Street in the lot connected to the Christian Theological Seminary & CTS Library building. The event will take place on Butler’s South Campus, in the Main Building at 1000 W. 42nd St.

An RSVP is required to attend, and space is limited. You can reserve your spot by visiting the IPS Parent Empowerment Conference Eventbrite page.
