You know how the day after a great party, people will say, “Last night was a movie?” This year on Juneteenth, Brother Jamaal Shabazz and Kwesi Rogers will host a Juneteenth Juke Joint event and turn it into a short film.

It will be at Rogers’ recently opened event space in Fountain Square called Untitled, 1028 Shelby St. If you show up at 8 p.m., you can share your answer to the question, “What does Blackness mean to you?” on camera.

Stick around for a speech from Shabazz, and then they’ll get the party started at 10. There will be a table set up to play spades, Uno and Knowledge of Self, the board game Shabazz created to teach people about Black history and culture.

The Juneteenth Juke Joint party is $5 at the door. Tickets are $6.49 if you buy them ahead of time.
