You can learn more about how to support students facing housing insecurity in a series of upcoming community conversations.

Brightlane Learning, an Indianapolis nonprofit that provides tutoring for unhoused students, has shared the next two topics of its Sparking Conversations series.

Each talk features a panel of local community experts who have worked in education, policy or other roles supporting young people impacted by housing instability and financial insecurity.

The free events seek to offer understanding for structural issues affecting students and provide resources for collaboratively addressing these kids’ and teens’ needs.

The next event is themed around Brightlane Learning’s 25th anniversary this year. The talk is titled “25 Years Later: What has Changed for Students Experiencing Homelessness.” It will focus on both the progress and persistent challenges of serving vulnerable students.
