Some common reasons for school fights are a student’s frustrations or anger at home. In this case, the fight is for a good cause.
A live, professional wrestling event on Sunday, July 21, in Irvington will collect donations for Indianapolis classrooms ahead of the 2024-2025 school year. The event will also raise money for violence prevention programs for Indianapolis youth.
Organized by Naptown All Pro, the event will kick off with a 2 p.m. match between Darian Bengston and Alex Shelley at Ellenberger Park, 5301 E. St. Clair St. Tickets start at $20.
Guests are encouraged to bring classroom supplies, including construction paper, pens and pencils, notebooks, crayons, tissues and other items.
All donations will be given to Teachers Treasures, which will provide over 1,700 Indianapolis teachers with free supplies and resources for their classrooms.
Jordan Rose, owner of Naptown All Pro-Wrestling, said his organization’s mission is to give children a form of entertainment they can look forward to as an “outlet to keep them away from environments fostering gun violence.”
The organization hopes to raise money to build a training facility for children and teens. For tickets to the Nap Luchini event, click here.
