The Peace Learning Center will host a lunch and resource swap for the National Day of Racial Healing. It will bring people of different backgrounds together to share a meal and have conversations about what racial healing can look like in their communities.
The event is from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, at the Block Bistro & Grill, 115 W. Market St. Tickets are $35.
Staff from the Peace Learning Center will use conversation-starters to encourage participants to reflect on the actions they can take. Each person who attends should bring a resource that connects to their identity – for example, a book, article or link to a podcast. After lunch, everyone will exchange their resource with another person, learning more about them and their culture in the process.
To RSVP, email Anita Jackson at ajackson@peacelearningcenter.org.
The National Day of Racial Healing started in 2017, and it is the Tuesday after Martin Luther King Jr. day each year.
