See scenes from Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis.

On Monday, Dec. 1, The Indiana House met for a legislative session and introduced a bill that would give Republicans an advantage in all nine of the state’s congressional districts. Right now, Republicans hold seven of the seats.
House Republicans also released a map that would split Marion County into four districts. Opponents say this would dilute the voices of Indy residents. Over 400 people showed up at the Statehouse to protest.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, the House Elections and Apportionment committee met to talk about the bill and hear comments from the public. The committee voted 8-5 to pass the bill on to the full chamber. The House is set to vote on the bill on Thursday, Dec. 4.

What’s next?
The Indiana Senate said it will meet Dec. 8 to discuss redistricting.
