Families can “shop” for backpacks and school supplies at an upcoming back-to-school giveaway.
The Salvation Army of Central Indiana plans to distribute hundreds of supplies at its giveaway event from 4:15-6:30 p.m. July 15 at The Salvation Army Fountain Square, 1337 Shelby St.
Parents and their children can choose from thousands of dollars of school products donated by Central Office Supply. Available supplies include paper, notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, markers and backpacks.
The Salvation Army will also give away box fans donated by Ace Hardware, one per family while supplies last.
And, families who pre-register are invited to arrive early, at 3 p.m., to have their children fitted for a new pair of socks and shoes donated by Shoe Carnival.
The shoe giveaway is limited to the first 200 children to sign up. To register, email Sharon Mack at sharon.mack@usc.salvationarmy.org.
