In honor of Speedway’s 100th birthday, the Speedway Garden Club is giving away 100 trees.

Just register for and attend a brief tree care class and the club will give you a serviceberry, redbud, flowering dogwood, black gum, chinquapin oak, common hackberry or tulip poplar tree.

Participants will also receive a Speedway Centennial Celebration participation certificate and tree guard.

The classes will be held Oct. 3, 6 and 10 at the Speedway Public Library.

All trees must be picked up on Oct. 17. If you can’t make it to the pickup yourself, you may send someone in your place.
