Eastsiders can learn more about their kids’ reading scores at upcoming Family Literacy Nights in Warren Township schools.

The elementary school events invite families to visit their child’s school and learn more about what scores on the state’s spring IREAD exam for third graders actually mean.

Families will also learn how teachers are working with kids to help them become confident readers. And, families can pick up advice on engaging ways to read with children at home.

The Family Literacy Night events come on the heels of the state’s recent release of IREAD results from tests taken by second and third graders in the spring.

Hoosier students across nearly every racial and ethnic demographic tested well this year with scores exceeding pre-pandemic literacy rates for the first time.

In Warren Township, third grade reading scores increased across the district by 2 percentage points.
