The Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, or INRC, is inviting residents and community organizations to share what’s working in their neighborhoods and what they need during listening tours in August.
There’s six sessions left, and you can register online to attend. The meetings are also a chance to meet INRC’s new executive director, Akilah Webster.
The organization supports neighborhoods through grants for projects that improve communities, such as the new signage Brendon Park neighbors put up. It also hosts an annual conference called Neighbor Power Indy, that has workshops to teach neighbors how to lead and where to find resources. INRC is looking for feedback on these and other programs.
At the first session on July 29, residents, new neighborhood leaders and a mayor’s neighborhood advocate showed up to the Beech Grove branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
“At each session, we’re asking: What’s working well in your neighborhood? What challenges are you facing? And how can INRC be more responsive and supportive?” INRC deputy director Sharon Logan said.
