Since 2023, Indianapolis Documenters have attended hundreds of public meetings in Marion County. Every week, we scour the internet for public meetings and publish our coverage on Documenters.org.

Monday, January 27

The Environmental Sustainability Committee reviews actions involving preserving and maintaining the local environment.

Perry Township School Board Public Work Session at 6 p.m., Perry Township Academic Center 2115 E Southport Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46227

The seven-member Board of Education serves as Perry Township Schools’ policy-making board.

Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township Working Session at 6:30 p.m., 1220 S High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46241

The Wayne Township Board of Education is composed of seven citizens elected at-large on a non-partisan ballot in the primary election of each even-numbered year. Board members set policies and have final authority over local school corporation matters

Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees at 6:30 p.m. Warren Public Library 9701 East 21st St, Indianapolis, IN 46229

The Indianapolis Public Library Board’s governing body consists of seven Board of Trustees members serving 4-year terms, including two appointed by the Indianapolis City-County Council, three appointed by the Marion County Board of Commissioners, and two appointed by Indianapolis Public Schools.

Decatur Township Civic Council at 7 p.m. Community Room of the Decatur Township School for Excellence 5106 S High School Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46221

The Decatur Township Civic Council is one of the oldest neighborhood-based organizations in Indianapolis, established in 1953.

The MSD of Lawrence Township’s goals include equity and anti-racism, student achievement, and safety and security.

Tuesday, January 28

Indianapolis City-County Council Information Technology Board meeting at 9:30 a.m., City-County Building Indianapolis, 200 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204

The Information Technology Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month in Room 260 of the City-County Building. Meetings are streamed live on Channel 16 and replayed at various times. Recordings are uploaded shortly afterward to the live meeting video archives. You may also watch meetings livestream here.


Near East Side Community Organization Board Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Englewood Christian Church, 57 N. Rural St, Indianapolis, IN 46201

Residents of the Near Eastside of Indianapolis, now served by the Near Eastside Community Organization (NESCO), have a long history of gathering together for a common purpose. Beginning early in the 20th century and continuing to this day, perceived threats to their way of life have compelled Near Eastside citizens to come together to save their neighborhood.

The Education Committee focuses on a shared vision for preschool through college initiatives that would boost educational attainment and cultivate collaboration across government bodies.

Wednesday, January 29

Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission at 10 a.m., IURC Conference Center, Suite
220, PNC Center, 101 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204

The IURC conducts various meetings, from field hearings to forums, that are open to the public and subject to the Open Door Law. Some meetings, such as the Commission’s weekly conference, are recurring, while others are topical or tied to a particular case and are more intermittent.

Indianapolis City-County Council Investigative Committee at 5:30 p.m., City-County Building, 200 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204

The Investigative Committee, comprised of council members and human resources firms, examines allegations against members of the Hogsett administration and recommends policy changes to address gaps in human resources policy.

Indianapolis Public Schools Board of School Commissioners of the City of Indianapolis at 6 p.m., 120 E Walnut St., Indianapolis, IN 46204

The Board of School Commissioners for the City of Indianapolis is established to govern and ensure the provision of free public education for K-12 students within the Indianapolis Public School Corporation’s boundaries.

CRT/CRDC Elevation Grant Initiative Public Safety Town Hall and Quarterly Update at 6:30 p.m., International Marketplace Global Village 4233 Lafayette Road, Indianapolis, IN 46254

The Elevation Grant Program is a partnership between the City of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Foundation. The program is investing $45 million in Indianapolis neighborhoods to address the root causes of violent crime through a comprehensive approach, including neighborhood empowerment and community building.
