The contract will be extended to August 2026 and will cost $228,779.

IndyGo budget update

Chief Financial Officer Bart Brown said the organization is under budget for spending by $1.9 million in March and $10.7 million year-to-date.

Brown said his department has started preparing the 2026 budget. It will be ready for presentation in July.

Treasurer Richard Harry Wilson, Jr., encouraged the board and staff to make sure budget proposals are for what the staff needs to “do things better, smarter and faster.”

Employee news

CEO Jennifer Pyrz acknowledged two employees for their work. Pyrz celebrated Thomas Jacobs, a 40-year employee, for 27 years of safe driving, and Lakeita Smith, a 13-year employee, as Operations Employee of the month.

She also shared that Indy’s own Lashanda McGhee won the IndyGo Roadeo and represented the organization at the International Bus Roadeo in Austin, TX. The American Public Transportation Association’s annual event trains and connects bus drivers and maintenance workers.

“She did an awesome job and represented us so well,” Pyrz said.

Pyrz also highlighted Director of Safety and Risk Brian Clem, who was part of a safety and security panel for a transit agency peer review for SunLine Transit Agency, facilitated by APTA.
