Live election results
This chart shows the vote counts as they are officially reported from the various polling places.
District 46 is centered on Indianapolis and leans heavily Democratic, meaning the winner is likely to win the November election. At this point, no other candidates have filed.
A former child welfare case worker, Impink’s campaign priorities include increasing access to childcare and affordable housing. As a supporter of public education, she has called for a moratorium on new charter schools.
If elected, Impink said she would work with Statehouse Republicans without compromising her values.
“I understand that working across the aisle won’t be about changing who I am,” Impink previously told Mirror Indy. “It’s going to be about me being disciplined enough to find alignment where it exists, and strong enough to stand firm where it doesn’t.”
Marsiglio serves on the board of directors for the Near East Side Community Organization. He previously ran unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor at the Indiana Democratic Party Convention in 2024. He also unsuccessfully sought the Democratic primary nomination for mayor of Indianapolis in 2023 and Indiana House District 100 in 2020.
“Anybody who knows me knows that I am a fighter,” Marsiglio said. “Sometimes they like it, sometimes they don’t. If it’s something that I think that needs to be done, I’m going to be there, I’m going to be supporting it, and I’m going to be loud. I’m going to get people to change their minds.”
Senate District 46 includes all of downtown and stretches from Hawthorne on the west side to Warren Park on the east side and Garfield Park on the south side.
The district is currently represented by Sen. Andrea Hunley, a former Indianapolis Public Schools teacher and principal elected in 2022. She’s leaving her seat to run for mayor.
