Indy residents can learn more about Alzheimer’s disease at a free workshop.

This form of dementia causes memory loss and impaired judgment. It impacts more than 110,000 Hoosiers over the age of 65, according to a 2023 report from the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. 

Attendees will learn about the stages of the disease, risk factors and Food and Drug Administration-approved treatments from the session, which is hosted by the Greater Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The workshop is from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at the library system’s West Indianapolis Branch, 1216 S. Kappes St.
