Kelly Doucet was added to the Citizens Police Complaint Board after a November vote by the Indianapolis City-County Council’s Public Safety and Criminal Justice committee.

“I consider myself fair and impartial,” Doucet said. “I like to look at facts and this is a great way to continue in that role.”

The committee also voted to reduce the number of meetings the Criminal Justice Planning Council holds each year. Instead of monthly, the council will meet as needed but at least quarterly. One council member — Jared Evans — opposed the proposal, saying “considering what’s going on in this city, with regards to crime and violence, I’m not okay with allowing that committee to reduce their commitments to once a month.”
