New and expectant mothers can register for a free event on the west side about how to take care of their baby and find resources to support their growing family.

The Firefly Children & Family Alliance’s program on newborn baby care is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 1 at the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, 1920 W. Morris St. 

The event will feature information on resources available to new mothers and presentations on baby care in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole, as well as games and snacks.

The event is free, but registration is required. To register, head to the event website.
