Before you head to the polls to vote in this fall’s midterm elections, you can pick up a copy of Mirror Indy’s election zine.
You can open up the printed guide to learn more about how voting works, what your rights are as a voter and what to do if you experience voter intimidation — and what elected officials actually do in their jobs. And the best part? Every zine comes with an adorable sticker of a dog saying “Heck yes I voted!” hand-drawn by local artist Nathaniel Russell.
Thanks to a partnership with United Way of Central Indiana, Mirror Indy is able to make this zine available to people all over Marion County. You can pick one up at any branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, 10 community centers across Indy or at three local bookstores.
Indy Documenters will also pass out zines outside vote centers during early voting and on Election Day.

Can’t make it to a library? Want to print a few zines at home and share them with your friends? You can download the zine and print it yourself.
When you do, fold it in half from top to bottom and then fold it in half the other way. Then you’ve got a zine you can flip through!
Request election zines for your shop, church or neighborhood group
If you want to put some zines on display at your coffee shop, in your classroom or wherever you connect with your neighbors, you can request a stack of 25. To do so, send an email to sophie.young@mirrorindy.org.
