It doesn’t matter how many elections you’ve voted in — there’s always something new to learn. We went back to basics to explain what the voting process is like, what rights you have as a voter and what counts as voter intimidation.
We printed 500 zines, or mini magazines, with all that information and more. If you open up the zine, you’ll see what the positions you’ll see on the ballot actually mean. You can learn what a state senator does, all the things the Marion County sheriff is responsible for and who constables are.
Plus, every zine has a free “I Voted!” sticker inside, designed by local artist Nathaniel Russell.
The Mirror Indy Votes guides will be displayed at nine branches of the Indianapolis Public Library, and Indy Documenters will pass some out at the polls on May 2 and May 5.
