The event — hosted by Purdue Extension Marion County and Indiana Legal Services — is at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at John Boner Neighborhood Centers, 2236 E. 10th St.
You’ll learn how to spot scams, understand debt collection and what your rights are under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. The act prohibits telemarketers, banks and other institutions from using an automatic dialing system to call you without your consent.
There will also be one-on-one legal sessions available on a first-come, first-served basis.
