An Indianapolis nonprofit is working to support moms with child-care essentials and networking.

The Mom Cave Co. was founded in 2022 by Indianapolis mothers Jordan Tynes and  Brittany Rice. The organization started as a way for moms to socialize and connect with each other following the pandemic.

“Our mission is just us being dedicated to bringing back the village of support in the community and providing a safe haven for moms and all parents, really, so that they can get help in other stages of life,” Rice said.

But the group soon noticed inquiries about resources and how to get diapers. That led to the launch of the organization’s new program, Mommy to the Rescue

The program will provide families with free baby essentials such as diapers, formula and clothing. Families also can receive larger items including car seats, strollers and bassinets.

The program isn’t just for baby essentials. It also helps connect families with community resources.

“They also are able to get resources in any thing they need help with,” Tynes said. “Like rental assistance or if they don’t know where to take their children to the doctor, or just needing postpartum help.”
