Full-size changing tables can now be found at some Indianapolis Public Library branches.
Universal Changing Stations are height adjustable, full-size changing tables designed to meet the needs of people with mobility challenges who cannot use traditional restrooms.
Indianapolis Public Library partnered with disability services and support organization Tangram to install the changing tables. The effort is supported by an Innovative Pilot Program Grant.
Gregory A. Hill, the library system’s CEO, said changing tables are part of the library’s commitment to create equitable access to knowledge and resources.
“It is part of the library’s broader effort to lead with intention, not only through our collections, sketches and programs, but also in the design of our physical spaces,” Hill said in a news release.
The full-size changing tables can now be found at these Indianapolis Public Library locations:
- Fort Ben branch, 9330 E. 56th St.
- Nora branch, 8625 Guilford Ave.
- Pike branch, 6525 Zionsville Road
- Central Library, 40 E. Saint Clair St. (coming soon)
