Community members can celebrate union workers during Indy Labor Fest on Aug. 23.
The family-friendly event is free to attend and will include live music, food trucks, a beer garden and a kids’ zone. There will also be an informational booth to learn more about career opportunities.
Indy Labor Fest is hosted by the Central Indiana AFL-CIO, which represents more than 50,000 union members and their families. The union represents multiple industries, including air traffic controllers, building and construction workers and musicians.
“As union members, we are proud of the work we do and the communities we serve,” said a statement on the Indy Labor Fest website. “That’s why union membership and community leadership is most important to us.”
Indy Labor Fest will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 in Garfield Park, 2345 Pagoda Drive. Community members are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets and umbrellas.
