Indy Parks and Recreation is hiring for part-time summer positions in aquatics, summer camps and food programs.

Positions include lifeguards, camp counselors, pool managers and cashiers. The pay ranges from $13 to $16.50 per hour.

Alex Cortwright, an Indy Parks spokesman, said the department is trying to fill 445 jobs.

“Most job postings will be available until early May,” Cortwright said.

Youths who are looking for a summer job and are at least 16 years old can apply for lifeguard, cashier and some camp counselor openings.

Cortwright described the ideal candidate for the openings as “someone who wants to serve their community and enjoys spending time in our parks.”

Most positions start in May but training for lifeguards is available earlier. More information about applying to work at Indy Parks can be found online
