IndyGo wants to replace 10 of its paratransit vehicles, which help transport people with disabilities, officials said at a September finance meeting. The 10 vehicles have exceeded their lifespan, which is five years or 150,000 miles. There are about 80 vehicles in the IndyGo paratransit fleet.
Paratransit vehicles pick up people with disabilities, who are unable to get to bus stops, from their homes. You can sign up for this service here.
IndyGo’s Senior Director of Strategic Planning also presented a plan to expand its East Campus by building a garage at 9625 E. 33rd St. At the September meeting, officials also considered whether to purchase an additional 32,000 gallons of diesel fuel and whether to ratify a new contract with a tire vendor.
