Lawrence residents can get ready for the new school year at the city’s annual Back to School Celebration. 

The event will be from noon to 2 p.m. July 19 at Lawrence Community Park, 5301 N. Franklin Road. 

The celebration will include a cookout with hot dogs, chips and snow cones. Free backpacks and school supplies will be given out while supplies last. The event will also feature local resource vendors, a kickball game and a fashion show.

More information can be found online. The first day of school in Lawrence Township is Aug. 6.
