Create art and hear stories from Martindale Brightwood residents at a free Indianapolis Public Library event.
This month’s Storytelling Drawing Session workshop is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Thursdays at the Martindale Brightwood library branch.
Participants can get inspired and reflect on Martindale Brightwood history as they listen to long-term residents share stories about the neighborhood. Artists in attendance will create art in any medium — from painting to crocheting — to reflect those stories.
Artists of all skill levels are invited to attend.
The library will provide a limited amount of supplies. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own.
The workshop is in partnership with the Harrison Center. The program will be offered at the Polklore Micro-Museum this summer.
Registration for the upcoming May events can be completed online. The Martindale Brightwood library is located at 2434 N. Sherman Drive.
