One of the only things that kept me going through the first nine-ish months of my son’s life was a 45-minute highlight video of Major League Baseball games. There was a fresh one every morning, and on those days where Jack decided 5 a.m. was a good time to wake up, I’d throw on baseball highlights and we’d watch together.
At least, I told myself we watched it together.
Fast forward to the preparation for his 1st birthday party, and I’ve fully convinced myself that Jack is a true baseball fan. He even stubbornly accepts the new challenge rules that are plaguing our beautiful game and enjoys the quiet back-and-forth between the catcher and umpire.
So the idea hit me: I’d make him a baseball card. Everyone could have his card in their wallet, purse, whatever, and show it off.
The whole thing took less than an hour. I paid a few bucks for a template off of Etsy, which I don’t think is cheating. The result was amazing.
I still keep mine in my wallet. It’s getting a little soft and faded, but I love pulling it out to show people how FREAKING CUTE HE IS.
