Families can make sure their kids start the school year healthy with free and low-cost screenings at The Villages of Indiana’s upcoming Wellness Day on Indianapolis’ southwest side.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 25 at the Ameriplex Complex at Children’s Village Childcare Center, 5555 Galeao Ct.

The Wellness Day will offer free well-child checks, hearing and vision screenings, lead testing, height and weight measurements, and clear backpacks. Physical exams for youth will be provided for $10.

Dental exams will be provided for free to Medicaid members and for $20 for those without insurance. Those seeking a dental exam are encouraged to register in advance online. Select The Villages as the office and site name during online registration.

Immunizations will also be available for free to infants, children and adults. Advanced registration online is encouraged for this as well. Use the enrollment code IN65942. Select the Children’s Village Wellness Event 7/25 as the location.

The Villages is a nonprofit that supports foster children across the state through placement, adoption and the transition out of foster care as teens grow older.

The nonprofit encourages all families, especially those who may be uninsured or underinsured, to attend its Wellness Day event. Visit The Villages’ website for more information.
