If you’re interested in attending a historically Black college or university, you can learn more about those schools at an upcoming picnic.
The annual HBCU cookout, organized by the Indianapolis Black Alumni Council, brings together prospective and current students and alumni to celebrate Black colleges and universities.
Alumni are encouraged to wear shirts or gear representing their school, and to set up a tent or table so prospective students can learn about different universities. There will be food and games at the event.
The cookout is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 26 at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 1702 Broadway St. The event is free and open to current and prospective students, alumni and families.
