Small business owners will have an opportunity to connect with eastsiders in an event later this month.
The Warren Township Council of PTAs is organizing its first Small Business Saturday Expo in partnership with INSPIREsmall.biz — a local support organization for Indianapolis small businesses and startups.
Kathryn Basham, president of the Warren Township Council of PTAs, said she sees it as an opportunity to connect local business owners with the community — whether it’s for growing their brand awareness, selling products or filling open positions.
She says it’s also a great place for eastsiders starting on their holiday shopping to find arts, crafts and other handmade gifts.
The event is a first for Warren Township’s PTA group, which will collect 100% of proceeds from vendor fees for the event.
The money will help fund PTA programs across the school district. One of the Warren Township Council of PTA’s biggest initiatives is its Sonny Day food and clothing pantry which provides free supplies to families in twice monthly distribution days.
The PTA council is seeking vendors to join the Small Business Saturday Expo. Vendor fees are $100.
The event will be open to the public on Small Business Saturday — the weekend event following both Thanksgiving and Black Friday and designed to celebrate local business owners at the start of the holiday shopping rush.
The eastside expo will run from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at Liberty Park Elementary, 8425 E. Raymond St.
Those interested in becoming a vendor or learning more about how to contribute to the event can visit the Small Business Saturday Expo website or contact ryan@INSPIREsmall.biz.
