New and expecting families can head to the Wayne Township Fire Department Station 81, 4302 W. Bradbury Ave., on Oct. 29 for a free car seat fitting.

The event will help ensure child car seats are safe to use and properly installed. Fittings will be done for existing seats, but new seats will be available if needed, according to the fire department.

Registration is required for the fitting. Children must be present for the fitting, and expectant mothers must be at least 32 weeks pregnant.

To register, call or text 317-499-4779. Appointments will be available 1-4 p.m.

A donation of $10 is requested to help the department purchase car seats.
